Do it Best Corp. merchandise managers are experienced professionals who aggressively negotiate the best deals possible for our members, evaluating each vendor, line, and category. Just as impressive is the level of service Do it Best Corp. provides to our members, achieving a 96.9 percent average fill rate on weekly truck deliveries and a 99.5 percent order accuracy rate.

ADpak Logo
ADpak™ is a customizable advertising and merchandising program providing members with components to help build traffic, build customer loyalty, and build local brands.  From product catalogs and coupon books to consumer magazines and the new holiday gift catalog, ADpak components are produced to help members effectively communicate their products and services to their customers.

Conversions
Do it Best Corp. has extensive experience in converting former members of other co-ops as well as stores with no previous cooperative affiliation. By using proven strategies to make conversions as organized and trouble-free as possible, Do it Best Corp. takes the worry out of the conversion process and provides the best support in the industry every step of the way.

CORE Logo
CORE®, College of Retail Education, helps Do it Best Corp. members maximize their business through a customized orientation to Do it Best Corp. products, services, and solutions. The five-day program is held at the corporate headquarters in Fort Wayne and is designed for managers and key staff.


Do it Best Markets

Do it Best Corp. holds a market in Indianapolis in May and October. These markets provide members with many great opportunities: see new products and get great discounts from thousands of vendors, attend numerous free seminars, learn about the programs offered by Do it Best Corp., and see some great entertainment. These markets, along with the Do it Best Winter Conference & Expo in January, help members profitably grow their businesses.

doitbest.com is a consumer-focused online retail site, offering our members’ customers how-to information, product specials, gift and specialty shops, and over 70,000 products. The new Ship-to-Store feature allows customers to have their online purchases delivered to a member’s store, saving them shipping costs and generating traffic to the member’s store.

Do it Best - Habitat for Humanity Logo 
Do it Best Corp. has designated Habitat for Humanity as its cause of choice. Habitat for Humanity has built over 150,000 houses around the world, providing more than 750,000 people with safe and affordable shelter. Habitat for Humanity offers a great opportunity to help families in need and better the communities that our members serve. Do it Best Corp. encourages all members to get involved with their local Habitat for Humanity affiliate in ways that are appropriate for them.

The Home Décor™ flooring department offers members a full range of private brand flooring products, including carpet, hardwood, laminate and vinyl flooring, and ceramic tile. With store planning and comprehensive vendor programs, Do it Best Corp. can supply all of the components and products needed to open a Home Décor flooring department.

Home Impressions Logo 
Do it Best Corp. launched a new lifestyle brand, Home Impressions™.  This exclusive brand gives members the opportunity to provide their customers with well-manufactured decor products at affordable prices, while offering additional margin opportunities for members.  The first line of Home Impressions products is decorative bath hardware, with other categories such as ceiling fans and lighting to follow.

INCOM Logo
INCOM Distributor Supply™ is the industrial/commercial division of Do it Best Corp. INCOM® provides a variety of services: B2B e-commerce site, broad product offering through our catalogs, a wide range of drop-ship and warehoused products, and our strategic alliance partners. We offer today’s industrial/commercial distributor solutions for all their MRO product needs.


Logistics

Do it Best Corp. has improved its product distribution capabilities by installing new inventory management systems in all retail service centers (RSCs) and doubling the size of its Waco RSC. Do it Best Corp. also opened its eighth RSC in Mesquite, Nevada, in January 2006. The 525,000-square-foot facility serves members in the southwest quadrant of the United States and stocks a complete assortment of regional products to help satisfy consumer demand.

mydoitbest.com is the Do it Best Corp. member-exclusive web site. Through this site, members can check current inventory, find program information, register for markets, get live lumber or panel product pricing, and receive current news updates from Do it Best Corp. The new Express Catalog makes searching for over 65,000 items quick and easy.


The Opportunity Program™ is a product management program that provides financial incentives and special dating when members re-merchandise a department or remodel an entire store. Members can use a free library of over 2,000 planograms on CD-ROM to select their product mix and assortments by department.

Do it Best Paint Solutions Logo
The Do it Best Paint Solutions™ program takes members from merely “selling paint” to positioning their store as the place to shop for products to enhance the style of their customers’ home. Members are assured of having the appropriate components to blend a sense of style with practicality.

Activant Logo  
Do it Best Corp. maintains a strategic alliance with Activant Solutions for its next generation point-of-sale (POS) system, offering members access to broader applications such as signature capture, wireless access, and e-commerce, all in a graphical Windows environment.  However, Do it Best Corp. does not mandate what kind of POS system members have in their stores.  Do it Best Corp. communicates with over 40 different POS systems.


Monthly purchasing specials

Backed by the success of the Manager’s Specials and the Special of the Month, Do it Best Corp. created three new monthly purchasing specials – Home Deals, Tool Savings, and Special Buys – to help members create a competitive price image and increase sales. Members participating in the program automatically receive a quantity of product to fill a basic display and a free promotion kit including a window banner, price cards, and ad slicks. 

Do it Best Rental Center Logo 
The Do it Best Rental Center™ program increases business with an existing customer base by providing members with tool and equipment rental as a part of their product offerings. The program includes an optional feasibility study to determine if their market will support a rental center, national discounts with hundreds of rental equipment manufacturers, an intensive four-day training program, and interior and exterior communication components.


Retail Wizard™ and Retail Assistant™ are the latest data management technology developed for our members. The Retail Assistant unit allows laser scanning of UPC barcodes or Do it Best Corp. bar-coded labels. It contains the member’s item file and personalized variable pricing information along with software to simplify the ordering process. Before transmitting the order to Do it Best Corp. via the Internet, the Retail Wizard software flags potential errors and calculates line count, extended cost, and order totals.

Retail Plus! Logo
The RetailPlus!® program analyzes every aspect of a member’s business and recommends comprehensive plans to help them become premier retailers in their market. The program provides project management and other incentives for stores undertaking a comprehensive store improvement project. A RetailPlus! manager will be assigned to each project to develop the customized action plan and timeline, then will continue to manage the project through its completion.


RetailSTART! is a Do it Best Corp. program to assist members with multiple locations add new locations, either through purchasing a new store or building a ground-up store. A market and site analysis will be completed for each RetailSTART! project and an extensive business plan developed. A project manager will be assigned to oversee the project from start to completion.

Do it Best Store Development Program 
The Store Development program provides members with the services needed to find and build the most profitable location for their store. These services include a market and site analysis, real estate brokerage services, funding sources, merchandising, and store design and construction.
